BMX bike legend Dave Mirra - which when had the record for the most X Games medals - has died of an apparent suicide ... TMZ Sports has learned.
Cops say the 41 year-old's human anatomy ended up being present his vehicle in Greenville, vermont Thursday with an obvious self-inflicted gunshot injury to the head.
We are informed he'd held it's place in the region checking out with pals.
Mirra renders a spouse as well as 2 children.
Officials tell TMZ Sports cops are examining the demise.
Earlier in the day Thursday, a photo of Mirra along with his partner together showed up on Dave's Instagram account because of the caption, "My Rock! Thank god."
Mirra hosted 2 periods of 'genuine World/Road Rules Challenge' on MTV - and had been the namesake of a number of BMX video gaming.
Mirra also drove for Subaru rally automobile rushing staff.
Dave's buddy and fellow BMX legend T.J. Lavin informs us ... "i recently desire he'd have known as me personally. I might have hopped on a plane in another. Almost always there is one other way. If any person requires assistance, only please have it. I feel unwell about it."
